Parking Space Study in Sigmaringen
- Owner City of Sigmaringen
- Project period 02/2012 - 04/2012
The City of Sigmaringen was planning, as part of its preparations to host the 2013 State Garden Exhibition, was planning to refurbish and remodel the square in front of town hall. As a result, the adjacent parking space had to be partially sealed off to the public. BrennerPlan GmbH was tasked with demonstrating, based on a parking space study, how to best keep the disturbances to the parking space throughout the reconstruction period at a minimum. To establish the current parking space demand pattern, a survey was conducted, during which the utilization period, purpose and destination of single users was collected. As part of the study, and with the help of the specially developed BPParker software tool, the status quo parking conditions were analyzed in terms of parking space utilization and demand for various user groups (long-term parking, commuters, retail customer, short-term parking). Based on this, and depending on the specific destination of the parking user, appropriate alternate parking solutions for each reconstruction period and user group were presented.
